Udemy Sales Courses Review

There’s an old joke:

Selling something you have to someone who wants to buy it – that’s not a sale. But selling something you don’t have to someone who doesn’t want to buy it? Now that’s a sale!

Selling is an art. And it is one which is constantly being perfected. The purpose of any business is to generate revenue and succeed. Whether it is a service or a product, a business thrives on sales. It is of great importance to be able to sell, and thus maintain healthy growth of business. In this Udemy sales courses review, we will focus our attention on the various sales training methods offered on the Udemy page. On this site, you can find the top free courses, the top paid courses, and new and mention-worthy courses. Some of the most popular Udemy sales courses are How to Upgrade Your Sales Skills And Boost Your Income (Free), Small Business Lead Generation ($197), Affiliate Marketing: Make Money Online ($299), and Cold Call 101: How to Cold Call Like a Boss ($197).

The Art of the Sale

Sales – whether face to face, over the phone, online sales, or any other kind – require skill. Thankfully, this is one skill that is acquired. Even those of us who are not born with the disposition can learn how to sell. The techniques taught by instructors on Udemy are time-tested, proven, and reliable.

One very popular course is Web Scraping for Sales & Growth Hacking with Import io, by instructor Matt Ellsworth. Ellsworth has been helping startup and early stage companies grow for the past 10 years. His courses aim to provide small teams with the tools needed to stay in business. His focus teaches making the most of limited resources, and getting ahead of the game. The course costs $149, and is meant for all levels.

Ellsworth’s web scraping course has over 19 lectures, which amount to nearly 4 hours of content. During the course, students will learn the basics of web scraping and data acquisition, lead generation, competitor tracking, and other valuable skills. The course is mainly intended for salespeople and marketers, but not only for them. Others, such as scrape script-writing engineers, can also benefit from Ellsworth’s experience. No prior experience or requirements are needed to make the most of this course. All one needs is a Google account and a working computer.

Many of the reviews are positive, but some students complained about the low level of audio and text within the course lecture videos. There are times when the lectures can be slow, according to some. The negative reviewers’ main complaints were that while the course material is actually good, Ellsworth’s presentation leaves a lot to be desired. On the other hands, there are some who gave the course one star, claiming it focuses too much on the Import io tool. Personally, I found this to be puzzling, since the course’s title more than suggests that the course will focus solely on Import io.

Know Your Audience

When it comes to sales, a lot of it is about knowing your customer. Unlike the joke at the beginning of this post, it is best to know what it is your customer wants. If you are aware of what it is that your customers are looking for, you will have no trouble speaking to them on a personal level, getting a good rapport going with them, and eventually making the sale happen. It is a matter of matching up your product/service and pitch to your customers and their needs. This is why a course like Ellsworth’s web scraping is invaluable. It can save a lot of time and money for those who employ these methods. Generating leads and target marketing is a huge pain. Using these methods, a company can start off with an edge already in its arsenal.
