Grammar checking software isn’t easily created since there are many grammar rules, but WhiteSmoke manages to deliver a great product which can help transform your text into better writing, and help transform you into a better writer in the process. It provides detailed reports on your text, and gives you feedback on your strengths and weaknesses. It even rates your writing in the form of a score, and shows you ways of correcting yourself, using WhiteSmoke’s explanation tool.

WhiteSmoke thinks ahead. It focuses on the future as much as it does on the present text. WhiteSmoke grammar checker doesn’t only make sure that your basic English grammar text is error-free and professional-looking, it also helps you learn from your mistakes and avoid making the same ones in the future.

A couple of features which are unique to WhiteSmoke (from what I have seen, anyway) is A- its templates, and B- its translator.  The program comes with a large built-in cache of formats and samples for regularly used styles, such as business, resumes, cover letters, academia and finance.

WhiteSmoke has a translator, able to translate your text into over 45 languages. This is not necessarily a feature which is a “must have” in a writing software, however it is part of what makes WhiteSmoke one of the leading English writing programs available in the market today.
